Benedict Cumberbatch, Emma Watson voted world’s sexiest movie stars

Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Watson have been voted the sexiest movie stars worldwide. The ‘Sherlock’ actor took the top spot in the 50 sexiest males of the moment poll conducted internationally by Empire Online, beating the likes of ‘Avengers’ star Tom Hiddleston and ‘Twilight’ favourite Robert Pattinson.

British men feature heavily in the top 50 with James Bond star Daniel Craig coming in 24th and sexy Scot James McAvoy taking the 16th position, just ahead of Tom Hardy in 17th place.

America’s finest Ryan Gosling, sailed into fourth place, and Bradley Cooper took the 10th spot.

Former ‘Harry Potter’ actress Emma won the title of sexiest female film star, pushing Scarlett Johansson into second place and ‘The Hunger Games’ favourite Jennifer Lawrence into a respectable third.

James Dyer, Editor of Empire Online, said, ”It’s a great result for British stars, but what’s clear is that it’s less important to have lots of casual fans and better to have a dedicated hard-core. The Cumberbabes, Hiddlestoners, Twi-hards and Cavilliers all made their opinions heard!”

2013 Miss Nigeria Winner, Ezinne Akudo Joins Traffic Warden

The 2013 winner of Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Akudo joined the traffic warden profession yesterday as she gave a bit of her skills in traffic control. She controlled traffic at one part of Lagos State as way of celebrating Nigeria's 53rd Independence anniversary. 

The beauty queen joined other traffic officers comprising the police, LASTMA officials and others to control traffic at the Adeola Odeku/Ahmadu Bello Way intersection in Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday. 

According to what we gathered, the initiative was one of the programmes lined up for her to be carry out during her tenure as Miss Nigeria.

Unveiled- The 12 Contestants Of The Gulder Ultimate Search

This year, Gulder Ultimate Search will take place in Usaka Forest, Obot Akara local government area of Akwa Ibom state.

The 12 contestants for this year’s Gulder Ultimate Search paid a courtesy visit to the newly constructed Akwa Ibom state government house, just before their entry into the rugged and swampy terrain of Usaka to search for the 10th Symbol. The searchers were received by the state’s executive governor, Barr. Godswill Akpabio. Also on hand to receive the Gulder Ultimate Search contestants were the Deputy Governor, Barr. Valerie Ebe, the state’s Head of Service, Commissioners, Special Advisers, among others. 

Barr. Akpabio thanked the management of Nigerian Breweries Plc. for the decision to stage Gulder Ultimate Search again in the Usaka jungle of Akwa Ibom state. He said: “This is the first time that Gulder Ultimate Search will be held in the same location for a second consecutive year. This is an uncommon decision brought about by some of the logistics Akwa Ibom put in place as an uncommon host. I am sure you will have an uncommon experience this time around and you will also go home with uncommon memories of Akwa Ibom State.”

The executive governor pledged that the State’s security apparatuses would be deployed to ensure a hitch-free Gulder Ultimate Search 10 experience, just like the previous edition. 

Addressing some of the contestants, he congratulated Mary and Martha Adeboye on being the first set of identical twins to participate on Gulder Ultimate Search. He jocularly inquired if the money would be shared between them if either of them emerges as the Ultimate Champion. Neither twin was willing to share and this elicited laughter from the Akwa Ibom State council chambers. 

The daily highlights of Gulder Ultimate Search will be broadcast on national terrestrial and satellite TV stations from October 4 to October 31, 2013.
