Photos: Chinua Achebe's body arrives Nigeria

The body of late literary icon, Prof. Chinua Achebe arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja, earlier today May 21, where it was received by government officials. His body was then flown to Enugu aboard a private plne en-route his hometown, Ogidi, Anambra state, where it was received by Achebe's elder brother, Chief Augustine Achebe, other family members and state govt officials.

He will be buried Thursday May 23. See more photos after the cut...

Fally Ipupa, 2face, Olamide to join D’banj for DKM’s 5-star concert

What does Nigerian international pop giant D’Banj want for his birthday? Well, find out on June 23, as the superstar entertainer shuts Lagos down with another five-star concert, featuring live appearances from some of the finest stars from the continent and beyond.

The MOBO and BET-winning hit-maker says he’s throwing a big, spectacular gig, at Eko Hotel in Lagos, to launch the debut DKM album, and celebrate his recent achievements with friends and fans in Nigeria.

The hugely anticipated concert will coincide with D’Banj’s 33^rd birthday, and he said over the weekend, that fans can expect to catch electrifying performances from him and his friends, including Fally Ipupa (DRC), 2face Idibia (Nigeria), 2Chainz (USA), Olamide (Nigeria) and other big names from here and abroad.

The big-budget concert will also feature DB Records acts KaySwitch, JSol, JSleek and others.
‘It’ll be my first time in Nigeria and I can’t wait’, 2Chainz says in a video drop released by D’Banj. ‘My birthday is in September but I’ll act like it’s my birthday’, he adds jokingly. The rapper is mostly known worldwide for his mega hit ‘Birthday Song’

The June 23rd concert, D’Banj says, will be the first in a series of DKM Concerts to be staged in collaboration with Ndani TV in Lagos and other parts.

‘We’ve done it all over the world, with the support of our fans everywhere’, the bestselling entertainer who performed with Snoop Lion at the MTV All Stars Concert in Durban over the weekend, says. ‘I know Nigerians have been yearning, and I can’t wait for June 23 to bring Lagos alive and treat my friends to all the new stuff we’ve been working on

Sex Tape Scandal: Sound City VJ Moet Abebe Gets A Mention

In fact, it’s not a mention, it’s countrywide of mentions, and trust me, that can be a lot…

There are reports of a leaked sex tape rolling around the Nigerian cyberspace, and the female name on everyone’s lips reads this way: Moet Abebe, the Sound City VJ.

The source of the story can be traced to celebrity journalist, Abiola Aloba of Maestro Media who set the rumour on its road with his claim that she had seen the full sex clip, and then went ahead to give insightful hints about the ‘sexticipants’. According to his mystery clue, the female party is a ‘popular hostess on a cable network, hosting a musical show, who always holds her audience spellbound by her delivery’.

He went a step further, taking pains to describing her physical features; ‘…Not too tall, very shapely with big eye balls, she looks like an angel’, her name, ‘…she sounds like ‘champagne’, we are not talking ‘Brut or Rose’ and even her family ties, ‘…and seems connected to the family of a former ruler, at least by her second name’.

Even if we are a bit slow, and have signed up for special instructor classes due to our lack of brain depth, we could still find a match for Aloba’s mystery girl in with popular Soundcity VJ Laura Monyeazo Abebe better known as Moet Abebe. She is the daughter of John Abebe, the brother of the late first lady,Stella Obasanjo.

23 years old and dashing, Moet returned to Nigeria in 2011 on completion of her study of Law atManchester University, UK. She’s quite a feature in the entertainment scene, racking up appearances in a couple of music videos including Lynxxx’s ‘Alabukun’ feat Banky W, Show Dem Camp’s ‘Getting you’,Wizkid’s ‘Pakurumo’. At Soundcity, she delights viewers as the host of the ‘1 on 1’ with Moet show and covers routine events.

An aspiring model, armed with a killer look, and an impeccable command of the English Language, we learn that she is currently enjoys a lovey-dovey relationship with a staff of MTV Base who she is super-fond of, displaying his pictures on Instagram with the tag, ‘my boo’. But she has over time been linked with a plethora of entertainers including Don Jazzy, Dr SID, May D, rappers Terry tha Rapman, M.I, Loose Kaynon, Beazy and producer Kid Konnect.

According to NET, A source close to the VJ confirms she’s actually the person in the video but explains that it’s quite old. ‘It’s her but it’s an old video, it was shot years back. I wonder why they are bringing it up again’, our source who pleaded anonymity told us.

And what about the damsel in the storm? When Moet was contacted by our reporter, she gave us the classic ‘no comment’ statement. Thereby making our story harder (and more juicy, I assume)

Is she, isn’t she? That’s the present state of affairs, but her case leans heavily on the implicating part, as a harvest of comments on popular blog shows her name dropping like raindrops from an angry cloud.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard of a sex tape. In the past, actress Empress Njamah was rumoured to have also been in one although the actress vehemently denied it…
